Operators Invest 750 Million in Fiber


Strong competition between operators will require the construction of their own infrastructure and is creating hundreds of jobs

Within three years, Portugal will have one of the best and most dense broadband network in the world if operators realize the investments of more than € 750 million that have been announced.
"In 2016, Portugal will be in the top positions of the ranking in terms of households penetration in Europe," predicts Charles Barroqueiro, president of CBE and board member of FTTH - Fibre to the Home Council Europe, an industry organization with a mission to accelerate the adoption of fiber optics.
